Get to know Julia a little better as she shares what she likes to do in her free time and what she likes most about being part of the IFS family.
What does a day-in-the-life look like?
My days are never the same, which is one of the reasons I like being in Human Resources. I could be doing anything from Compliance, Recruitment, compensation planning etc. It requires a lot of prioritization and organization. Work at IFS specifically is both rewarding and at times challenging. But our people and culture are what differentiates us. Over the years, I’ve made lifelong friends with colleagues, who consider each other family and are always willing to lend a helping hand.
How do you like to spend your time when you are not working?
Spending time with my Husband and Daughter. We have a one-year-old at home so, there is never a dull moment!
What motivates you to get up and go to work each morning?
What motivates me is helping the employees we service in IFS North America. Although my job can be tough sometimes, helping employees and making their lives a little easier makes me feel proud of the job we do day in and day out.
What do you like most about IFS?
The HR team locally and globally, as well as the employees. It’s one big happy family, we like to joke around and be sarcastic which I love. Being able to have fun makes work more enjoyable and makes me want to come back each day.
What do you wish you knew at the beginning of your career?
Each situation is unique and there is no “one size fits all” when it comes to finding a solution. HR requires a lot of patience at times and we need to explore all options before selecting the one that fits best.
What has been your most rewarding project so far?
Project THOR! Every project has its challenges, but to see our product being used and seeing its continuous evolution, makes me proud to have been part of bringing it to life.
Where is your happy place in the city where you live?
My husband and I like exploring all the forest preserve around. Taking long walks through them is therapeutic for both of us.
