IFS participated in the Automotive Logistic Congress 2015 conference in Leipzig, Germany, last week. It’s an annual conference for logistics experts, supply chain managers in OEMs and automotive experts in logistics services and consulting companies.

This year, over 600 people participated to address the main topic: intelligent supply chain control – global, transparent and efficient.

Global sourcing has many facets. And regional conditions and their influence on logistic processes must always be considered.

Furthermore, there are challenges such as customs, public authorities and the movement of shipping containers. How can the overseas supply chain of global operating companies be guaranteed? What possibilities do the local environment offer regarding materials procurement?

With IFS Applications, it’s possible to meet the global requirements of international companies in the automotive industry with a single instance.

Functionality like multi-site MRP and Planning Networks ensure the supply of each division, independent of location and size. Multi-language support and individual labeling allow site development all over the world.

Globalization and changed customer needs require transparency and flexibility in the supply chain to survive in the international and highly-competitive landscape.

This will be a matter of best possible information to fulfill the necessary supply and answer questions like

  • How many goods are on hand?
  • At which site are the goods in stock?
  • How many goods are in transit?
  • When will the goods arrive at the target site?

IFS Demand Planner supports you in handling customer demands and forecasts. You can react as early as possible to plan internal and external procurement or stock transfer between different sites. With functionality like EDI and shipping notification, questions like those I’ve mentioned are easy to answer.

So, are you ready to make your supply chain more transparent and efficient?
