Welcoming a new IFS partner to the IFS ecosystem is always exciting, especially when it involves people that have a long history with us and finally goes “all-in”.
Aveso has been helping existing and new IFS customers for more than a decade, but it wasn’t until the end of 2019 that they became a Channel Partner. I talked to Sami Heino, CEO at Aveso, to get a better understanding of the company’s origin and where he sees the future taking him together with IFS.
How long have you been an IFS Partner?
We’ve been a partner since the very start of Aveso, in 2015. Involved in projects, implementations and support to both new and existing IFS customers in Finland.
Why did you decide to team up with IFS?
Aveso’s management has a long relationship with IFS. I personally worked at IFS from 1999 to 2007 and during that time I met my future business partner, Ilkka Pynnönnen, who was also working for IFS. Additionally, Aveso purchased Acentra Ltd’s data management business in 2015 and we have had customers using IFS from the very beginning. We have a strong belief in IFS’s product strategy and that’s why we invested a lot in 2019 to become an IFS reseller.
Describe the ideal Aveso customer.
I’m not sure if I want to go into any silos here but I guess any mid-sized company where manufacturing, project management or service play a key role. These are the kind of companies that fit with our product and competence portfolio.
In which countries do you operate?
We focus on the Nordic IFS market and we currently have customers in Finland, Sweden and Denmark.
What makes Aveso unique?
I’ve always believed in entrepreneurship and I hope that it shows in our daily consulting work. It’s of course my opinion, but I think that our customers feel a bit more of a true partnership with Aveso than they perhaps would feel with some larger supplier.
How would you describe your firm’s values and how do they align with IFS?
I like the challenger status that IFS has globally. In a similar way, I think that Aveso is a challenger in the Finnish ERP market. IFS doesn’t have the strongest brand in Finland, compared to some of the other Nordic countries. So, in the same way I want to see Aveso as a challenger in the Finnish ERP market for mid-sized companies, or a contender if you like.
How does Aveso’s data management offering help IFS customers?
I believe we have a lot to offer customers already running IFS or planning to implement IFS. We have a great product and consulting offering especially for IFS related data warehousing, master data management, data quality solutions and projects.
As an example, Aveso’s data warehousing development automation for data vault modelling, combined with our IFS competence, enables us to deliver data warehousing on top of IFS faster than our competitors in that segment. Another example is Aveso DataHub which is a Microsoft Azure based service for master data management, data collection from suppliers and erroneous data management (e.g. during implementation projects).
Anything else to add?
Aveso IFS Admin Services is good way to mitigate HR-related risks when running and maintaining your IFS ERP. We launched the service in 2019 and the feedback from our customers and prospective customers has been very positive. Also, Aveso Managed Azure Cloud for IFS is also a good option when looking for a hosting partner with IFS experience.
